I wanted to leave a massive thank you to Jaspal and Kultar for their incredible help recently. One of our tenant's properties had a boiler breakdown, and since it was 13 years old, it just wasn't worth repairing. I called Basi Heating, and Kultar managed to get out to the property that very same morning. It was a freezing day, and the situation was urgent because the tenants were struggling without heat or hot water—made even more critical as their grandfather lives with them. Despite being busy, Kultar managed to squeeze us in to ensure they weren't left in the cold. He handled the survey efficiently and clearly explained the situation. Got in contact with basi heating. As my old boiler wasn't safe to use. Within 5 working days they booked me in for a new boiler to be installed. The engineers arrived within the time frame given. Very professional and the installation of the new boiler is excellent. Fantastic customer service all round. Highly recommend. And will be using basi heating for the servicing of the boiler. Can you come out today?
Most days, yes, especially if you call before 11am. We hold same-day slots back specifically for breakdowns. If we genuinely can't get to you today, we'll tell you straight; we won't waste your morning.
How much does a boiler repair cost?
£80 for the first hour's labour plus parts at trade price. Most repairs are done within the first hour. We quote any parts cost before we order them, you decide whether to proceed.
How much is a call-out for a boiler?
We don't charge a separate call-out fee. You pay £80 for the first hour on site, which includes the diagnosis, and that covers most repairs. Parts, if needed, are quoted at trade price before we order them. No call-out fee on top, no minimum charge games.
Is it worth repairing a boiler?
Usually, yes. If your boiler is under about 10 years old and the repair is under roughly £600, a fix is almost always the sensible choice. On older boilers, or when the repair bill approaches the cost of a new unit, replacement is the better value. We quote both numbers (repair and replace) at the same survey so you can compare like-for-like, and we never push a new boiler when a repair will do.
What is the most common problem with boilers?
Low pressure and a frozen condensate pipe are the two we see most, and both are often quick fixes. After those, the usual culprits are a faulty diverter valve, a failed pump, a stuck three-way valve, a worn expansion vessel or a sensor fault throwing an error code. We carry the common parts on the van, so most jobs are fixed first time.
What's the first-time-fix promise?
If we can't fix it on the first visit (because we need a part we don't carry on the van) we deduct 50% of the fee paid for the first visit off the price of the return visit.
Do you repair all makes of boiler?
Yes. Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal, Baxi, Glow-worm, Vokera, Potterton, Ferroli, Main, Alpha, Viessmann. If it's a domestic gas boiler installed in Yorkshire, we can almost certainly fix it.
What if my boiler can't be repaired economically?
We'll tell you. Roughly: if the repair quote is north of £600 on a boiler over 10 years old, we'd typically recommend replacement. We can give you a same-day fixed quote for a new install and apply any diagnosis fee against the new boiler price.
