What's the cost of a boiler service?

The short answer: a full boiler service with BASI costs £80, fixed, and takes about an hour. That includes the safety checks, the flue gas analysis and a written service record for your warranty, with no call-out fee and nothing added on the day. How much does a boiler service cost in the UK?

With BASI it is £80, fixed, in every town we cover. Elsewhere the honest answer is “it depends who you ask”: prices vary with the engineer, the area and above all what the visit actually includes. That is why the average boiler service cost you see quoted online is close to useless as a comparison: one firm’s “service” is a full hour with a flue gas analysis and a written record, another’s is a quick visual once-over. What affects the price of a boiler service?

Is the cheapest boiler service a false economy?
